Your first request will look like this
One day soon, a notification: someone wants to live in your place — and has put a month’s rent on the line to ask. Be ready before it pings.
What arrives
A booking request from a tenant who has passed Spotahome’s Trust & Safety screening (full identity, biometric and solvency verification) — and has added their payment details and authorized the First Payment to send it. The charge happens automatically the moment you accept, and Spotahome holds the money for safety until after check-in. You’ll see who they are, what they do, their move-in date, the length of stay and the rent. It’s not an enquiry; it’s a committed reservation waiting for your yes.
What you’ll have to do
Respond within 24 hours — accept, propose a small modification (dates or price), or decline; any answer is fine, silence is the only wrong one. Accept, and the First Payment is charged to the tenant automatically, contact details are exchanged, and your payment is released within 48 hours of move-in.
Get ready in two minutes: turn on push and email notifications now, and decide your criteria in advance — minimum stay, move-in window, anything personal to your property. Landlords with criteria ready answer in minutes, not hours.
Then switch guides
Everything that happens from that notification onwards — reading the tenant profile, accepting step by step, when the money arrives, what’s covered if things go wrong — is its own complete guide.
